Another Milestone: No Immunosuppresants

 Greetings,

I have been doing well since my last update and yesterday was another significant milestone. I'm officially off immunosuppressants, if the Lord wills. My doctor "willed" it yesterday. I'm feeling really well with one exception - a continuing GI challenge unrelated to my transplant. I've started working out fairly regularly and have taken up pickleball as a part of my workout routine. I feel like I'm getting some stamina back, which is a blessing. I'm feeling good enough that Lesa and I are going to escape the TX heat to Steamboat Springs for a few days in August.

Later in August, another milestone will begin - rebuilding my childhood immunizations. With bone marrow transplants, you lose the immunities acquired from childhood vaccinations. Things like DTaP, Polio, MMR, Tetanus, etc. They've added quite a few more since I was a kid. Those will come over 3 months, starting later in August.

I waited patiently for the LORD; he inclined to me and heard my cry. He drew me up from the pit of destruction, out of the miry bog, and set my feet upon a rock, making my steps secure. Psalm 40:1-2

Thank you again for your support and prayers. It's been quite the journey, and the Lord has upheld me through it all.

God bless you,

Gary
